The mainland is here connected with the island Murter

by a bridge over the "Tisno" straits. There are four villages

on that island, inhabited mostly by olive-oil producers,

fishermen, farmers, shipbuilders and seamen.

On the opposite side of the straits there is a place called

Pirovac. Comming from that direction, one can reach all

the villages on the island on one road, an be surprised

how close the houses are to the sea, as if the sea had

penetrated between the houses, or the houses entered
